Kelvin Wilson hat geschrieben:I think I once saw in Marija Gimbutas' book "The Balts" a photograph of a sheepskin jacket- the fur on the outside, open down the front and with long sleeves- found in Poland (I believe) and dated to the Iron Age.

I have not seen it since. Does anyone know anything about this find??

Thank you,

Kelvin Wilson

Thomas Trauner hat geschrieben:As far as I remember, the girl with the fur-cape is pictured in Schlabows:
Kleidung der Eisenzeit.

Hope this helps.

Kelvin Wilson hat geschrieben:Wait a minute: this is really a sheepskin jacket... in my memory it looked like something a Hollywood costume designer would design for a 'barbarian': a woolly, shraggy coat. It is not a cape!
