Ich denke, das ist Lehm oder Ton mit Sand gemagert ?
Yeah, I use stoneware clay, with charmotte and mix in another 40-50% clean sand (no shells!) and some 10% of horse dung.
Yeah, that's my equipment, though that's about 4 years ago. My crucibles, furnace and tuyeres have changed somewhat since then (larger crucibles, smaller furnace). I really should update those photos, as those are from my very first casting day!
Zu den Fotos: ah, alte Bekannte! Immer wieder schön zu sehen, welch bleibenden Eindruck unser Besuch vor Jahren in den Niederlanden gemacht hat.
Yep, it's a very well working design, so no need to change it
I am experimenting with different furnaces as well though, like the Egyptian style furnace. That furnace works great in melting lots of copper, 3kg on the first attempt as well as the crucible. So I still have to make crucibles that will survive in it
I've now got the right clay for it and made some crucibles, which are now waiting to be fired.
