In wiefern Genetik? Bzw. was ist daran unverständlich?

Es wäre einfach mal interessant zu wissen, wo die Fellfarbe kodierenden Gene lokalisiert sind, wie hoch die Anzahl der Allele und die zeitliche Abfolge der Mutationen ist. Und dann würde mich noch interessieren, wie sie Zucht und natürliche Selektion genetisch unterscheiden.

Zu beachten ist auch wie vorsichtig die AutorInnen ihr Ergenbnis bewerten:

We conclude that it is unlikely that horse domestication substantially predates the occurrence of coat color variation, which was found to begin around the third millennium before the common era.

Und da würde mich noch interessieren, wie groß das Unlikely ist.

Saudis 'find evidence of early horse domestication'

Saudi officials say archaeologists have begun excavating a site that suggests horses were domesticated 9,000 years ago in the Arabian Peninsula.
The vice-president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities said the discovery at al-Maqar challenged the theory it first took place 5,500 years ago in Central Asia.
Ali al-Ghabban said it also changed what was known about the evolution of culture in the late Neolithic period.
